rollerskating legs background for skate of mind live

After almost a year of delays due to the pandemic, we actually managed to run our Skate of Mind Live event at Theatre Peckham!

As we were just coming out of lockdown we decided to scale back our ideas for the original event and take this an opportunity to run it as a test event with limited capacity.

To my surprise, it sold out within a few days of the tickets going on sale (no pressure then!).

This is a testament to the need and demand for indoor spaces in the run-up to autumn and winter at least.

Thank You

Skate Of Mind Pod Live

After our original event was shelved due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, like many event’s “Skate of Mind” took life in an online form and became our Skate of Mind Podcast.

But now things are slowly reopening we have once again teamed up with Theatre Peckham, in an attempt to bring indoor rollerskating back to our corner of South East London!

On the 5th of September 2021, you’re invited to join us for our first event on wheels in collaboration with Theatre Peckham.

Skate of Mind Live is a bring your own roller skates event combining our world of creativity skating and…

It’s world mental health awareness day, and I tried to kick my anxiety of podcasting to one side to create the Skate Of Mind Pod!!!

The first guest in the Skate Of Mind Pod was non-other than Yanka, aka “Jiggy Dust”.

Listen now via anchor.fm, Spotify.

So we’re here in #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek which would have been the count down to our event with Theatre Peckham this Saturday but as with most events, the recent health crisis has put it on pause.

However, it still is Mental Health Awareness Week, and for many, anxiety and depression have been reported to be on the increase due to isolation and lockdowns.

Many of us have found a way to adapted and find a way to keep skating, but for some of us who have limited space, this has been a relatively hard time, with no way to vent via their usual skate outlet.

For this reason, we think it’s important to continue to share our #SkateOfMind stories with you this week.

Special Thanks Roller Girl Gang and to those who have contributed and allowed us to share with you how skating has helped them through some hard times.

When things are…

denmark life drawing

It’s been a long time since I did any life drawing. In fact it’s almost 20 years ago since I sat in my art class wondering why the room was so hot and why the small fan heater in the corner was on full blast, when to me it wasn’t that cold. It wasn’t until my teacher counted down and a woman pranced into the middle of the room before unveiling her naked form by letting her floral silk dressing gown fall to the floor, that I realised why the heating was on! The class gasped before swiftly holding their head down to their paper to refocus on the task at hand… Draw the lady in the middle.

Fast forward to today, where I was invited by the #JiggyTwins Emma & Estelle Tiller to join them in their life drawing class at VIA University College, Denmark.

I was slightly apprehensive about doing it as…

Our Roll Jiggy friends from Skate Life Ireland joined me on a whistle stop tour around the center of London and the South Bank before bringing some Irish charm to Bump Rollerdisco Wrap Party at the Southbank Centre. Here some of what we got up to in pictures.

So now we have a food baby (or two) from the Christmas over indulgence, and whilst all the celebs come out with their fitness videos and DVDs to get us back into shape, watch this little celebration of Friends and Family across 2 countries on our 8 wheels.

Special Thanks goes out to Patti and the Dublin skaters for the collab and looking after me during my time in Ireland.

Also shout out to Abi rolling her heart out over in Berlin, faithfully rocking her F’lay Tee (which you can get from our shop along with other gifts and art prints)!!

For those of you who got skates I hope this inspires you to get them onto your feel and just dance the night away!

Enjoy the rest of your Holidays! #RollOut

What started off as a random doodle at 3am because I couldn’t sleep, has now grown and I have now had a few commissions. This instalment shows some of my work in progress and some speed art whilst adding the digital colour for Esther’s from Ginger Skates, using Photoshop.

Cheese And Whine A-Line Dress | Redbubble | Jiggy Creationz

Following our recent post on 5 A-Line Dresses selected by #TeamJiggy Roller Girls @r0lljiggy, I decided to make my Cheese and Whine Party illustration available as an A-Line Dress.

Ain’t no Party like a Cheese and Whine Party!

It’s approaching a year since the Cheese and Whine Party illustration was inspired by a silly chat over a glass of wine, with the girls from the Camberwell Community Choir. As with most of my drawings, this idea spawned from a mashup of images based word play. A cheese and wine party with the added bonus of a good old R&B Slow Jam dance off!

What’s all this Cheese and Whine About then?

The spirit behind the Cheese and Whine Party illustration is based on a meeting of two cultures where society expects us not mix. In a world where certain types aren’t allowed in certain places and people are treated differently because of what they look like, Cheese and…

When you think of Berlin, or more so Germany, what springs to mind? Take a look at what we discovered, during our time and work with Rollers-Inc. For us Berlin is a real hub of #creativity.
